Once the graphics card is in place, you should install the Nvidia Quadro & GeForce Driver software to take advantage of everything it has to offer.
Note: If your Mac Pro model allows you to upgrade your graphics card, NVIDIA provides various models designed to fulfill different types of requirements: GeForce GTX 680 / GTX 285 / GT 120 / 8800 GT and Quadro K5000 / 4000 / FX 4800 / FX 5600. The preference pane can be accessed normally through the System Preferences.
The Quadro & GeForce OS X Drivers include the new NVIDIA Driver Manager preference pane, as well as an optional menu bar item for quick access to the preference pane and basic functions.
